Greshka

ARTWORK by

Julian Palma

Loosen your suspenders, tighten your shoelaces and get ready to flap your extremities! Greshka is a seven-piece neo-gypsy / klezmer ensemble not unlike a chipotle and cocaine kebab: you’re not sure where it’s from, but it sure knocks you off your tits. A torn canvas of Romanian gypsy dons a filthy smear of electronica, metal, jazz-funk and classical-arrangement.

Their deliberately silly writing style coupled with their hyper-energetic delivery makes the group’s peculiar blend of Eastern European folk wholly captivating and endlessly enjoyable.

The septet have graced the stages of the National Folk Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Queensland Multicultural Festival, Brisbane Festival, PEAK festival and many more. Greshka has toured interstate several times, has been nominated for a Queensland Music Award and show no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
