Another GarageBand triumph for fhae!
'flag' is an experiment whereby Ellena tried to get out of their comfort zone and use more complex drums and arpeggiators, even using a metronome (heresy!) to give the song a more structured feel.
The vocals have also been heavily stripped back in parts to highlight the electronic instrumentation a little more.
The initial aim was for a jumpy and hopeful soundtrack, influenced by LCD Soundsystem’s ability to build and layer sounds to a climax.
The result is a little darker and moody with the lyrics telling a story about getting through rough times.
